- Person-to-Person communication (PTP) – Any user station can talk directly to any other user station without tying up a channel
- Text messaging – Any keypad speaker station can send short text messages for display at user station of any other user(s).

- Standard Cat-5 wiring – All connections between user stations employ standard Cat-5 cable, so any existing spare Cat-5 capacity can be utilized. (Note: ASL’s propriety network protocols will not function on an existing active LAN.)

ConfigurIT™ Software
ConfigurIT software provides a simple, easy-to-use graphical user interface (GUI) for configuring ASL Digital Intercom systems. It also allows users to quickly create various presets to automatically reconfigure the system for different types of events, or for different productions in repertory.

Built to the same strict standards for ruggedness and reliability as ASL’s renowned analog beltpacks, the DS 290 offers all the features expected in any high-quality 2-channel unit: separate TALK, and CALL buttons, separate volume controls, MENU button, separate activity indicators, and a factory option for use with binaural headsets.

Both rack-mount and tabletop versions are available, with channel configurations suited to any requirement from basic to highly sophisticated.

Interfaces
A very useful range of optional modules that allow connection between ASL Digital and the analog environment. For example 4-wire intercom, analog paging etc. These modules may be mounted in the rear panel of an ASL Digital matrix or the DS 700 rack-mount Interface frame. The DS 700 can accommodate up to 4 interface modules.
